The Information
Center for Mathematical Science (ICMS) is a non-profit organization
established for the collection and distribution of information on
research in mathematics, so that researchers can obtain the most needed
information easily from the center via the internet. ICMS is sponsored
by the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation, and is affiliated
with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology(KAIST).
In a effort to collect high quality mathematical research information,
ICMS is inviting the submission of survey articles which summarize
or review research activities on the development of any field, topic,
or problem in mathematics. There is no restriction on the scope of
the articles. Some may cover broad research topics, while some may
cover narrow and specific problems or topics in someone's research
area. The primary objective of such articles is to give guidelines
to the people who wish to understand or study the area. by reading
the article the reader may get the general idea about the topic, and
they may know what to do next in order to study further on the subject.
The article should describe the topic or area in rather general terms
so that graduate students in different areas of mathematics can understand
the content without much difficulty. It would be desirable if the
article contains the statement of the problem, some back ground materials
to understand the problem, historical comments on the topic, recent
developments including the most recent results, and a bibliography.
The article should by typeset in AMS-TeX or AMS-LaTeX, and include
an abstract, keywords, mathematical subject classification numbers,
and references. The length of the paper should be at least 5 pages
but no longer than 10pages.
Once the articles are collected, they will be uploaded to the ICMS
website. Then the articles will be refereed and published in the Trends
in Mathematics, a journal-like publication of ICMS.
The authors of the accepted articles will be rewarded for their contribution
with some honoraria.
